Sudden Aviator ( hardcore arena shooter )

(kurismakku) #1

Hi everyone !

I want to show you my newest game that was made using Flixel, I hope that’s okay, if not, be free to delete the topic. Link for game : http://www.gupp.com/play/sudden-aviator.html

Game description : Be a rocking pilot in the middle of an ambush, and stand against hordes of enemies. In middle of thrilling action you will need to fly through clouds, combine power-ups for massive destruction, and use different tactics to outsmart unique enemies. Upgrade your ship, stop enemy’s evil plans, collect trophies, and become a most famous flying ace in history of wars. Copter is waiting for you soldier, it’s time for you to save the world. (:

Game is 2D arena shooter made for hardcore players, and lot of love was put in the project. I was designer and programmer, and in team there was also one artist ( DeathInk, Matthew Barto ), and musician ( Manuel Krusy & sine-syndicate team ). Big inspiration for this project was Metal Slug games and Coptra from JW. This is first game I designed by myself, and working on this I realized I want to do this for my whole life. It all started when I ported Coptra with Jan Willem Nijman from Vlambeer, after that I ported few more games like Verge, Crazy Over Goo, and 10800 Zombies. In each of those games I added some little pieces, but I realized that I want to design the full game by myself, and after I got some guts I started working on this game, and there was lot of people that helped me along the way. I see now that this game have some flaws, and I plan to solve all those problems in sequel that will be , I promise, much better game. Right now I am working on few other projects, arena shooter set into fantasy world of bacterias ( here I can be much more creative because I have lot of freedom ), point and click adventure inspired by works from Hayao Miyazaki, and also top-down close combat game inspired by Dark Souls with really great artist that worked on games like FEAR, Condemned, and Guild Wars 2.

I want to stay indie as long as possible, but I am also interested to work for game company because I want to learn and get more experience.

I am always interested to meet people that share same passion so if you are interested to talk or work with me, or you have any suggestion, please let me know, I will really appreciate that.

It’s a shame it’s a flixel game - if it was FlashPunk I’d be offering to publish it on mobile right now :stuck_out_tongue:

(kurismakku) #3

I could port it to HaxeFlixel, I already have experience with Haxe. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t think we need to delete the topic; Flashpunk and Flixel have always been friends in the past. With that said, this is a Flashpunk forum and I think we should limit submissions to projects made with Flashpunk in the future.

Send me a PM if you’d like to hear more about our publishing deal (it’s revenue-share based).

I wish I knew how to send PM, can’t find the option when I click on your profile, or here. Maybe I need to drink coffee first, just woke up.

Look for the “Private message” button right under his avatar.

You seriously can’t see it?

Might be a bug in the forum.

(kurismakku) #12

Nope, that button doesn’t exist for me.

(Ultima2876) #13

That’ll be to do with user trust. Until you have a certain amount of useful posts you can’t do stuff like that - I totally forgot. Will PM you within the next few days @kurismakku - insanely busy at the moment!

Oh yeah I totally forgot about trust too. This is the first forum I’ve been on that has such a system.
