Squared - A flash remake of "Squarez"

Squared

By Epihaumut aka Jools64
This is a remake of a game I used to play called "Squarez". It was developed using FP and flashdevelop over few days. My main motivation for making it was so I could have a version of "Squarez" with an online high-score board.

It's a little puzzle game where you have to find four of the same shape in a square formation. A square can be any size and at any angle as long as the length of each side is equal.

Hope you guys like it!

I think that dragging a mouse and drawing rectangle in addition of clicking would speed the usability. One could select the squares way faster.

This would make a nice mobile/touch screen game. Speak to me if you want to publish it as a free title with ad revenue (you’d need some extra levels, however, and perhaps achievements - something to keep player interest).

I agree with @rostok, clicking and dragging would make things easier. Additionally, if you were to click and drag the diagonal, it would allow a new player to “guess around”.

@zachwlewis this is brilliant! note that you could not only match squares rotated by 45 degrees but on other angle as well. for example:

---#-
#----
----#
-#---

(sorry for no fancy gfx)

Thanks for the input guys, I really like the dragging idea. I’ll try and implement that at some point soon.

As for putting this on mobile devices, thanks for the offer but I’d feel bad making a game so heavily based another developers design and then monetizing it. When I make something more original I’d be all for it.

Edit:
I added the drag selection. I think it definitely makes the game nicer to play. Thanks again for the suggestion guys!
