My first game ever

(Marko Cetinic) #1

Hi

I just finished and uploaded my first game ever. For years I had desire to create game, few months ago I came across FlashPunk and Zachary Lewis series of tutorials. I followed all tutorials and when finished them I just kept adding stuff to the game. You can try the game here.

Thanks everybody for this fine framework, and especially thanks to Zachary.

Pretty nice! I’m hungry for planets now. Maybe one thing, though. Reduce the hitbox a bit? Because it detects hits when the comets and planets don’t really touch the squid :stuck_out_tongue: (When they are at the same level as the head)

Thanks for feedback John. I reduced the hitbox.

A good rule of thumb to make games feel good is to make it easier for the player to collect good items and harder for the player to touch bad items. This can be done fairly simply by making your player’s hitbox smaller, your fireball’s hitbox smaller and your planet’s hitbox larger.

Good stuff, thanks. I reduced the fireball hitbox size too.

To make it more varied, maybe make it so that the fireballs’ speed is random! And their color can represent that speed
