I’d make sure you don’t have something blocking Javascript or embedded fonts.

That’s what it was. I had to select an option in Firefox to allow pages to use their own fonts if they so choose.

Yeah, Discourse uses a webfont to display the icons so they a) load faster and b) render properly at any size. Pretty sweet, right?
